Adekanmbi Ezekiel, popularly known as Eazy (DBigPROpeller), is running for the position of Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the University of Ibadan Student Union (UI’SU), with a mission to transform communication between the Union and students. Ezekiel, a 300-level student in the Department of Communication and Language Arts, has served as the PRO for Great Independence Hall and Chairman of the UI’SU Board of PROs, bringing extensive leadership experience to his campaign.
“My vision is to create a Union that is transparent, inclusive, and closely connected with the students,” Ezekiel stated. He emphasized the importance of strengthening communication channels to ensure that students feel engaged and informed about Union activities.
One of his major proposals is UI Talks on X, a monthly online forum on the platform X (formerly Twitter), where students can directly interact with Union leaders. “This will be a space for students to voice their concerns, ask questions, and stay updated on Union developments,” he added.
Ezekiel is also committed to relaunching the UI’SU Bootcamp, focusing on equipping students with valuable digital skills such as graphic design and videography. “These skills will help students enhance their professional profiles and succeed in the modern job market,” he explained.
Additionally, he plans to continue promoting mental health awareness and improving the accessibility of Union activities. “We must reduce the stigma around mental health and provide students with the resources they need,” Ezekiel said. He also aims to live-stream major events, offer monthly video updates, and introduce a newsletter to keep students well-informed.
Ezekiel’s commitment to increasing Union visibility is clear, with plans to conduct regular hall visits to meet with students directly. “Not all students are active on social media, so it’s important to engage with them face-to-face as well,” he noted.
As the election approaches, Ezekiel’s vision for a more transparent and connected Union is gaining momentum. “This election is about building a Union that truly represents and serves all students,” he concluded.
