The wait is over, and the results are in! The Students’ Union Government (SUG) election at the University of Ibadan has come to an end, and the winners have emerged.
In a hotly contested election, Covenant Odedele has emerged as the President-elect, polling 4,572 votes to defeat his closest rival, Oluwole Ayomide, who secured 1,561 votes.
Olabisi Owadayo has also been elected as the Vice President-elect, polling 4,234 votes to defeat Ajao Oluwabukolami, who secured 1,772 votes.
Other winners include Olowu Victor Segun, who emerged as the General Secretary-elect with 5,056 votes; Adekanmbi Ezekiel, who won the PRO position with 3,344 votes; Emmanuel Olawoye, who emerged as the AGS-elect with 5,334 votes; Adéyemí Oluwaseun, who won the House Secretary position with 3,294 votes; Bioku Joshua Oluwapelumi, who emerged as the Treasurer-elect with 5,347 votes; and Victor Kolawole, who won the Sport Secretary position with 5,742 votes.
