Adeleke University, located in Ede, Osun State, remains one of Nigeria’s most prominent private universities, widely known not only for its academic offerings but also for its ownership by billionaire businessman and philanthropist, Dr. Adedeji Adeleke — father of internationally renowned music star, Davido. The institution has earned a reputation for excellence in academic disciplines ranging from the arts to medical sciences, and its comprehensive curriculum makes it a popular choice among students seeking private university education in Nigeria.

The school’s tuition, however, reflects its elite status, with fees significantly higher than what is obtainable in public universities. For the 2024/2025 academic session, Adeleke University released an updated school fees schedule covering all levels and major departments, with varying amounts based on the student’s year of study. The fees are structured to allow installment payments, making them more manageable for parents and guardians.

Under the Faculty of Basic Social Sciences, Mass Communication stands out as a key programme. Students in their first year (100 level) are expected to pay ₦1,684,570.00, while those in 200 and 300 levels pay ₦1,508,280.00 per session. Final year students (400 level) are charged ₦1,588,280.00. The fees cover tuition, accommodation, and administrative charges.

Accounting, another highly sought-after programme at Adeleke University, falls under the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences. Freshers in the department pay ₦1,737,770.00, while 200-level students pay ₦1,598,280.00. The fees drop slightly for 300-level students to ₦1,458,280.00, but rise again to ₦1,588,280.00 at the 400 level.

One of the most expensive courses in the university is Nursing, reflecting the cost-intensive nature of training healthcare professionals. For 100-level students, the school fees are ₦2,568,070.00 per year. Those in 200 to 400 levels pay ₦2,180,382.50 annually, while 500-level students are charged ₦2,390,382.50 for the session.

Students studying Public Health, also under the medical sciences faculty, are charged ₦1,931,220.00 at the 100 level. Those in 200 and 300 levels pay ₦1,831,120.00, and 400-level students are billed ₦2,041,120.00. These figures include laboratory use and clinical experience costs.

Medical Laboratory Science is another high-demand course at Adeleke University. First-year students are billed ₦2,342,520.00, while those in 200 to 400 levels pay ₦2,074,945.00. Final year students (500 level) pay ₦2,284,945.00 per session, with costs covering clinical attachments, laboratory training, and consumables.

For students enrolled in Anatomy and Physiology, fees stand at ₦1,601,120.00 for freshers. 200 and 300-level students pay ₦1,525,920.00, and 400-level students pay ₦1,655,920.00. These programmes also fall under the Basic Medical Sciences faculty and are vital to the school’s growing medical training infrastructure.

In the technology and computing cluster, students can pursue Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, Software Engineering, and Computer Informatics. These students are charged ₦1,704,220.00 at 100 level. From 200 to 300 levels, they pay ₦1,589,150.00. At 400 level, the fees rise to ₦1,719,150.00 per session, reflecting the hands-on technical resources required in these fields.

Despite its high fees, Adeleke University offers students modern learning facilities, experienced faculty, and a conducive environment. Its commitment to producing socially responsible graduates with strong academic foundations continues to make it one of the most prestigious private universities in Nigeria. However, it remains financially out of reach for many Nigerian families, reinforcing calls for more scholarships and financial aid options.

Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, whose philanthropy led to the founding of the university, has continuously emphasized moral and academic excellence. The university also upholds Christian values, which influence its disciplinary structure. With its growing national and international reputation, Adeleke University is expected to continue expanding its academic offerings while maintaining its standard of excellence.
