The Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex (OAUTHC), Ile-Ife, has officially announced the commencement of admission into its National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND), and Post-Basic Perioperative Nursing programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.
In a public notice released by the College of Nursing Sciences, the institution called on qualified candidates across Nigeria to apply for its rigorous and fully accredited nursing programmes aimed at developing competent professionals for the country’s health sector.
For the ND/HND in Nursing programme, applicants must possess five credits in core science subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, obtained in not more than two sittings in either WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB. However, candidates using NABTEB results are not permitted to combine them with any other result. Additionally, eligible candidates must be at least 16 years old as of January 2025.
The institution emphasized that prospective applicants must have sat for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) with a minimum score of 180, and must have chosen OAUTHC College of Nursing Sciences, either at the Ife Hospital Unit or Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesa, as their first-choice institution. The required UTME subject combination includes English Language, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology.
OAUTHC further disclosed that the Post-UTME screening exercise will be conducted through a Computer-Based Test (CBT), scheduled to hold between Tuesday, 26th August and Wednesday, 27th August, 2025. All interested candidates must ensure their O’Level results are uploaded to the JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS).
To apply, candidates are to visit the institution’s official website at www.oauthc.gov.ng/schools/index.php. A sum of ₦15,000 is required for the application process, covering both the Post-UTME screening fee of ₦2,000 and a portal access fee of ₦13,000. The deadline for online registration is Friday, 15th August, 2025.
Meanwhile, admission is also open for the Post-Basic Perioperative Nursing programme, a twelve-month intensive course scheduled to commence in November 2025. Candidates seeking admission into this programme must have the same minimum academic qualifications as those required for ND/HND Nursing, and in addition, must be Registered Nurses duly certified by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
The application process for the Post-Basic programme is equally online and attracts a fee of ₦15,000, payable through Remita. The closing date for applications is Friday, 8th August, 2025, while the written test and oral interview have been scheduled for Tuesday, 19th August and Wednesday, 20th August 2025, respectively.
OAUTHC reiterated that all admissions must be processed strictly through the official online platform. “The approved guidelines to purchase admission forms are as specified in this advertisement. No individual or agent has been appointed to sell admission forms on behalf of the College,” the institution warned.
It further cautioned applicants against patronizing fraudulent individuals or unofficial platforms, stating that “anyone who acts outside the stated procedures does so at his or her own risk.”
The OAUTHC College of Nursing Sciences remains one of Nigeria’s leading institutions in nursing education, producing competent professionals who have contributed significantly to healthcare delivery nationwide. The College operates two campuses located at Ife Hospital Unit, Ile-Ife, and Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesa, both of which are fully equipped for academic and clinical training.
Prospective applicants are advised to visit the official website for full guidelines and to ensure timely completion of the application process. For further inquiries, the College encouraged applicants to use official communication channels or engage through the designated comment sections online.
