Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), has officially commenced its 2025/2026 Post-UTME and Direct Entry (DE) admission screening exercise. This follows the university’s public notice that registration for the screening began on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. The university also released cut-off marks for all undergraduate programmes, providing a clear guideline for aspiring candidates.

All candidates who selected AAUA as their first-choice institution in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and scored 160 and above are eligible to apply. The institution also allows candidates who initially did not choose AAUA to apply, provided they effect a change of institution on the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) CAPS portal before the registration deadline.

Direct Entry candidates who selected AAUA as their first choice and meet the qualifications are also invited to apply. Eligible qualifications for DE include a first degree (minimum Second Class Lower), ND (Upper Credit), HND (Lower Credit), JUPEB (minimum 6 points), and NCE (minimum 8 points). All candidates must be at least 16 years of age by September 30, 2025.

Registration for the screening must be completed online at https://putme.aaua.edu.ng. Applicants are to create an account using a valid JAMB registration number and email address. After verifying the email, candidates are expected to pay a total of ₦5,000—₦2,000 for Post-UTME registration and ₦3,000 for portal access—via E-tranzact on the screening portal.

Upon successful payment, applicants are to complete their bio-data forms, including uploading their O’Level results. The university accepts WAEC, NECO, and NABTEB results, and allows for a maximum of two sittings. Candidates awaiting results may still apply, but must upload their results to both the AAUA portal and JAMB CAPS as soon as they are released.

Applicants are strongly advised to review the admission requirements for their preferred courses to ensure their UTME subject combinations and O’Level results align with AAUA’s stipulated criteria. Where discrepancies exist, candidates are expected to immediately change to appropriate courses on the JAMB portal.

In a related update, the university has also published the official departmental cut-off marks for all undergraduate programmes. For the Faculty of Arts, English and National Studies, Performing Arts, Linguistics, and Philosophy all have a minimum UTME requirement of 190. These programmes continue to attract students interested in literature, culture, and language studies.

In the Faculty of Education, English Education requires a score of 180, while Biology Education and Health Education require 170 and 160 respectively. Architecture in the Faculty of Environmental Design and Management has a minimum score of 170, emphasizing the competitive nature of design-oriented programmes.

The Faculty of Law maintains one of the highest cut-off marks at 250, reflecting its rigorous academic standards and limited admission capacity. Programmes under the Faculty of Social Sciences include Criminology and Security Studies (190), Political Science (180), and Sociology (180).

The Faculty of Administration and Management Sciences sets its threshold at 180 for Accounting, Business Administration, and Public Administration. In the Faculty of Allied and Health Sciences, Medical Laboratory Science and Public Health each require 200, while Nursing—the most competitive programme in the faculty—requires a UTME score of 250.

In computing and digital innovation, Computer Science and Software Engineering each require a UTME score of 190, while Cybersecurity has a minimum of 180. For all other courses not specifically mentioned, a general cut-off mark of 160 applies, although admission into such programmes will still be subject to available quotas and internal screening performance.

The University Registrar, Olugbenga Arajulu, FCAI, JP, cautioned all candidates and parents to beware of fraudulent individuals posing as agents of the institution. “AAUA has not appointed any agent or intermediary to facilitate admission. All candidates must follow the official procedures as published on the university’s website and portals,” he emphasized.

As the admission season progresses, prospective students are advised to complete their registration before the closing date and monitor both the AAUA website and their personal email accounts for further updates regarding the screening schedule. The institution remains committed to a transparent, merit-based admission process that reflects its motto of “Building a 21st Century University, Properly Called.”
