Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has officially announced the commencement of the Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Post-UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) online registration for the 2025/2026 academic session. The university’s admission portal will be open from Friday, 25th July 2025 to Wednesday, 20th August 2025. Candidates who selected LAUTECH as their first-choice institution during their UTME or DE application are advised to take advantage of the registration window to complete the screening process.
To be eligible for the Post-UTME screening, UTME applicants must have scored a minimum of 170 marks in the 2025/2026 examination. This score forms the basic requirement for gaining access to the screening portal and subsequent participation in the admission process. However, meeting this cut-off does not automatically guarantee admission, as other criteria are also used in selecting qualified candidates for the university’s programmes.
In addition to the UTME score, all applicants are required to upload their O’ Level results to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board’s Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) before the deadline of 20th August 2025. Failure to upload the results on CAPS will automatically disqualify the candidate from being considered for admission, regardless of performance in other areas.
Another important eligibility criterion for admission into LAUTECH is the age requirement. All candidates applying for admission must be at least 16 years old by 30th September 2025. This age policy aligns with national university admission regulations and is strictly enforced by the institution. Candidates younger than this age as of the cutoff date will not be offered admission.
For UTME applicants, a minimum of five (5) credit passes in relevant O’ Level subjects is required. These credits must be obtained at not more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB examinations. For professional programmes such as Medicine, Nursing, and Medical Laboratory Science, candidates are expected to have all five credit passes in a single sitting only, without exception.
Direct Entry (DE) applicants are required to possess a recognized university degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower, or National Diploma (ND) with Upper Credit. Other acceptable qualifications include Registered Nursing Science (RNS), NCE with Merit, Lower Credit in HND, and JUPEB qualifications. All DE applicants must also possess five (5) relevant credit passes in O’ Level, similar to the UTME requirement.
To apply, candidates must visit the official university admission portal at http://apply.lautech.edu.ng. A non-refundable application fee of N2,000.00 and a portal access fee of N3,000.00 must be paid using any InterSwitch-enabled debit card. These payments grant the applicant access to the online application form, which must be carefully and correctly completed.
Applicants are required to upload a recent passport photograph, preferably with a white background, in JPEG format and not exceeding 20KB in size. Inaccurate information, blurry images, or improper documentation may result in disqualification. Candidates are strongly advised to review their information thoroughly before final submission.
Before submitting their applications, candidates must also ensure that they understand the programme requirements, including acceptable UTME subject combinations and O’ Level subjects. These details can be verified through the JAMB CAPS and LAUTECH’s admission portal. This step is crucial to avoid choosing a course for which they are not academically qualified.
Candidates awaiting results in WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB are permitted to apply. However, such candidates must upload their results to JAMB CAPS no later than 20th August 2025 to be considered in the final admission selection. LAUTECH emphasizes that failure to meet this condition will result in automatic disqualification.
Direct Entry (DE) candidates must forward academic transcripts of their qualifications to the university one week before the screening date. The DE oral and written interviews will hold on Monday, 25th August and Tuesday, 26th August, 2025, at the university’s designated hall in Ogbomoso. Any candidate who fails to appear for the interview will forfeit their admission automatically.
Finally, LAUTECH has warned that any discrepancy in name, age, or state of origin may result in disqualification. Candidates who submit false information may have their admission withdrawn and also risk legal prosecution. The university also advised prospective students to avoid dealing with unauthorized individuals or websites, as it will not be liable for fraudulent transactions. All official enquiries should be directed to registrar@lautech.edu.ng or admissions@lautech.edu.ng.
