Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka has officially commenced registration for the 2025/2026 Post-UTME and Direct Entry (DE) screening exercise. The announcement, released by the institution’s admissions unit, outlines comprehensive details for eligibility, faculty-specific cut-off marks, and a step-by-step registration process for all prospective candidates.
Candidates eligible for the screening include those who chose UNIZIK or its affiliate institutions as their first choice in the 2025 UTME and met the required pass marks. Direct Entry candidates must possess relevant qualifications such as OND, HND, First Degree, or A-Level results in suitable disciplines. Candidates who did not initially choose UNIZIK as their first choice but scored above the required marks may also apply, provided they process a Change of Institution at a JAMB-accredited CBT centre before the deadline.
The institution has grouped its cut-off marks based on faculties and programmes. Candidates seeking admission into Law, Medicine, Medical Laboratory Science, Nursing, Radiography, Pharmacy, and other health-related courses must have scored a minimum of 200 in the UTME. These programmes are highly competitive and require strong academic credentials.
Faculties with a cut-off mark of 180 include Arts (such as English, History, Theatre Arts), Engineering (including Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer), Social Sciences (like Mass Communication, Political Science), Biosciences, Management Sciences, and select Basic Medical Science courses like Anatomy and Physiology. These candidates must also meet the UTME subject combinations required for their chosen courses.
For programmes with a pass mark of 160, applicants may apply for courses in Agriculture, Environmental Sciences, Education, Technology and Vocational Education, as well as less competitive courses within Arts, Biosciences, Engineering, Management, and Physical Sciences. All courses at UNIZIK’s affiliate institutions carry a pass mark of 150 and above, giving candidates wider opportunities.
Registration officially begins on Monday, 28th July 2025, and closes on Saturday, 16th August 2025. However, Change of Institution or Course into UNIZIK must be completed by Saturday, 9th August 2025. A mandatory upload of O’Level and A’Level results to JAMB CAPS must be done before 16th August 2025, or candidates risk being disqualified from the screening process.
To register, candidates must visit http://apply.unizik.edu.ng. After validating their JAMB registration number and providing details like LGA and UTME subject combination, they will proceed to create an application profile. Candidates must enter a valid email address, phone number, date of birth, and password. After profile validation through email, they can sign in to the portal.
Once logged in, applicants should click on “O’Level” to upload their results and then click “Buy Form” to pay the ₦2,000 registration fee. Payment can be done online via debit card or offline through bank deposit. After payment, candidates must return to the portal and submit their completed application form. A confirmation email will be sent upon successful submission. Note that the O’Level results can be edited only during the registration window, after which the form will be locked.
For Direct Entry candidates, in addition to online registration, they are required to ensure their academic transcripts are sent to the Registrar, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. Furthermore, hard copies of their JAMB E-slip, O’Level result(s), and relevant certificates (OND, HND, First Degree, or A’Level) must be submitted to the Deputy Registrar (Admissions) by Saturday, 16th August 2025. Failure to meet this requirement will lead to disqualification.
Details of the screening exercise, including specific dates and modalities, will be communicated through the candidate’s registered phone number/email and on the official UNIZIK website. Candidates are strongly advised to purchase and study the official UNIZIK Post-UTME Past Questions and Answers to adequately prepare for the examination. Only those who complete the online registration and upload the required documents will be allowed to participate in the screening.
UNIZIK has issued a strict caution against fraudulent activities. The university reiterated that admission is not for sale and warned applicants against making payments to individuals or unofficial accounts. Any demand for bribes or unauthorized payments should be reported for criminal investigation. Additionally, candidates must ensure they use the correct JAMB registration number during payment to avoid complications.
As the 2025/2026 academic session approaches, Nnamdi Azikiwe University continues to uphold transparency and merit in its admission process. Prospective students are encouraged to follow the guidelines carefully, stay updated via official communication channels, and prepare thoroughly for the screening exercise.
