The Nigeria Police Academy (POLAC), Wudil, Kano State, has officially announced the commencement of its admission process into the 12th Regular Course Degree Programmes. According to the management of the Academy, the online application portal will be open to interested applicants starting from 28th July, 2025, and will close on 8th September, 2025.
The Academy, known for its unique blend of academic excellence and professional discipline, offers prospective candidates an opportunity to acquire quality tertiary education alongside comprehensive law enforcement training. This initiative aims to groom highly skilled, morally sound, and mentally prepared individuals to serve in the Nigeria Police Force.
To be eligible for admission, applicants must fulfill a set of carefully outlined requirements. Primarily, the applicant must be Nigerian by birth and must possess a valid National Identity Number (NIN). This emphasizes the Academy’s focus on national integration and identity verification.
In addition, all candidates must have scored a minimum of 180 in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and must have selected Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, as their first-choice institution. This aligns with the current Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) directive on first-choice institution preference for specialized tertiary institutions.
Candidates are required to have a minimum of six credits, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings in WAEC/NECO or any other recognized equivalent examination. It’s important to note that SSCE results obtained before 2021 will not be accepted, which ensures that only recent and relevant academic qualifications are considered.
Applicants must be between the ages of 16 and 21 by 31st October, 2025. This age bracket ensures that candidates are still young and can easily undergo rigorous police training without age-related limitations. Furthermore, candidates must be physically, medically, and psychologically fit, with minimum height requirements set at 1.67m for males and 1.64m for females.
In terms of physical standards, male applicants must have a minimum chest measurement of 86cm (34 inches). These criteria are consistent with the Nigeria Police Force’s physical demands and fitness expectations from recruits. Candidates must also be unmarried and not pregnant at the time of admission, reflecting the discipline and full commitment required during the course.
To ensure effective communication throughout the admission process, applicants must provide a valid email address and phone number. This is essential for receiving timely updates, invitation letters, and other important correspondences from the Academy.
The application process requires candidates to visit the Academy’s official website at www.admission.polac.edu.ng, where they can generate a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) code. A non-refundable application fee of ₦6,000, which includes a ₦2,000 Post-UTME fee, is to be paid at any commercial bank.
After payment, candidates are to complete the online application form and upload scanned copies of their credentials, which include:
- SSCE Certificate
- Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age
- Certificate of State of Origin
The Nigeria Police Academy emphasized that it does not operate through any agents or third parties, and applicants should be cautious of scammers or unauthorized individuals posing as representatives of the institution. All applications must be done online through the official portal only.
This annual admission exercise continues the Academy’s tradition of training dedicated, disciplined, and competent officers who are committed to upholding law and order in Nigeria. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply early and follow all guidelines carefully to ensure successful application.
