The Kwara State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to raising the standard of education, announcing plans for a N20 billion infrastructure project to be executed across all 193 wards of the state.
The Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Lawal O. Olohungbebe, disclosed this during a meeting with the leadership of the School-Based Management Committee (SBMC) in Ilorin.
According to him, the project will focus on the construction and rehabilitation of classrooms, examination halls, laboratories, and toilets, alongside the provision of motorized boreholes to improve learning conditions. He said the initiative is in line with Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s commitment to strengthening the education sector.
Dr. Olohungbebe added that the government is engaging key stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of education policies that will transform public schools. He described the SBMC’s visit as timely and useful in aligning collective efforts toward achieving a stronger system.
In response, the SBMC leadership commended the government for sustaining its investment in public education and pledged continued collaboration to realize shared objectives.
