Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, has once again shown his commitment to education and youth development by settling all outstanding registration fees for Gombe State students at Bayero University Kano (BUK). The payment was made through the Professor Isa Pantami Foundation (PIP Foundation).
The move followed an appeal by Muhammad Alamin Abdulkadir, President of the Gombe State Students Association (GOSSA) at BUK, who reached out to Pantami via social media to highlight the financial challenges many students were facing. In response, the former minister swiftly directed the necessary payment, ensuring that no student would be hindered in their academic pursuit due to financial constraints.
This generous intervention has provided much-needed relief to students and their families. Abdulkadir, in a statement over the weekend, expressed deep gratitude for Pantami’s ongoing support for education, youth empowerment, and entrepreneurship.
“We, the students of BUK, will always remember your selfless act of kindness in 2022, when you provided free buses for our return to campus after the prolonged ASUU strike,” Abdulkadir said. “That gesture not only restored hope but also eased the challenges faced by numerous families.”
Abdulkadir also extended heartfelt thanks: “Thank you for your generosity, for your unwavering support of the youth, and for alleviating the burdens of our parents. Your continued contributions to society are invaluable.”
Describing Professor Pantami as a “visionary mentor” and “father to all,” Abdulkadir commended his dedication to human capital development, which he believes is brightening the future of Nigerian youth.
The GOSSA President also expressed gratitude to Dr. Salihu Ahmad Pantami, a childhood friend of the former minister and patron of the association, for his ongoing mentorship and guidance.
