The Sokoto State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Professor Ahmad Ladan Ala, has suspended the principals of Government Secondary School (GSS) Lambar Tureta and Junior Secondary School (JSS) Bissalam over repeated absenteeism.
The disciplinary action followed a series of unscheduled inspection visits to the schools, during which the principals were consistently found absent from duty.
Professor Ala directed the vice principals of both schools to immediately take over as acting principals to ensure continuity in school administration and uninterrupted learning.
The Commissioner carried out the inspections alongside Abdulkadir Umar Alkammawa, Director of Quality Assurance, and Muhammad Sani Usman, Director of Quality Assurance (Arabic Board).
Reaffirming the ministry’s stance, Professor Ala said the state government remains committed to enforcing discipline, accountability, and professionalism across all public schools in Sokoto State.
The Ministry urged school administrators to lead by example, stressing that any form of negligence would not be tolerated.
