The Osun State University, Osogbo, was aglow with joy and celebration as the institution held its 15th convocation ceremony for the 2024/2025 academic session. The event not only marked the successful graduation of hundreds of students but also highlighted the academic brilliance of the overall best graduating students from each faculty, with one student emerging as the best overall across the university.
At the center of this year’s celebration was Faidat Sonia Adetu from the Faculty of Engineering. With a remarkable Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.86 and matriculation number 2021/36473, she stood tall as not only the best in her faculty but also the overall best graduating student of the university. Her achievement drew admiration from staff, students, and guests as she set a benchmark of excellence that will inspire future cohorts.
In the Faculty of Management Science, Oluwadamilola Mary Musibau, with matriculation number 2021/35304, distinguished herself by graduating with a stellar CGPA of 4.84. Her performance underlines the quality of talent nurtured by UNIOSUN, particularly in fields that drive Nigeria’s economic growth and managerial innovation.

From the Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences, Mubaraq Adeleye Oyegbade made the university proud with his outstanding CGPA of 4.83, matriculation number 2021/35957. His success demonstrated not only hard work but also the institution’s commitment to producing highly skilled graduates equipped for global competitiveness in science and technology.
The Faculty of Culture was represented by Joshua Oluwafemi Adebanjo, whose matriculation number is 2021/35013. With a commendable CGPA of 4.79, Joshua exemplified how the humanities and culture-based programs at UNIOSUN contribute to shaping leaders who preserve heritage while advancing modern academic thought.
In the Faculty of Education, Blessing Olabimpe Arowolo, with matriculation number 2021/33618, graduated with an impressive CGPA of 4.78. Her success highlighted the importance of education as a foundation for societal transformation, affirming UNIOSUN’s role in preparing educators for future generations.
Equally deserving of recognition was Testimony Ifeoluwa Ogunwale from the Faculty of Environmental Sciences. With matriculation number 2020/30630 and a CGPA of 4.70, she demonstrated academic rigor in a faculty dedicated to addressing Nigeria’s environmental challenges through research and practical innovation.
The Faculty of Agricultural Production and Management produced Olajumoke Mary Oke, who also earned a CGPA of 4.70, with matriculation number 2020/29817. Her feat underlined the significance of agriculture in national development and the university’s commitment to producing graduates who will contribute to food security.
From the Faculty of Social Science, Oluwadaraloba Julianah Akinfenwa, with matriculation number 2020/35497, earned a CGPA of 4.68. Her success reflected the importance of social sciences in shaping policies and governance structures crucial for Nigeria’s growth.
In the Faculty of Law, Michael Oladeji Olanrewaju, matriculation number 2020/30976, distinguished himself with a CGPA of 4.60. His achievement underscored UNIOSUN’s rising reputation in producing legal minds capable of influencing justice and governance in Nigeria.
From the Faculty of Clinical Science, Boluwatife Eniola Adekolegan, matriculation number 2021/36757, excelled with a CGPA of 4.57. Her success represented a significant milestone in medical training, emphasizing the institution’s role in addressing Nigeria’s healthcare needs.
In the Faculty of Humanities, Precious Boluwatife Agunbiade, matriculation number 2021/34557, attained a CGPA of 4.56. Her distinction reflected the strength of humanities in cultivating critical thinking, creativity, and global perspectives.
The Faculty of Computing and Information Technology was represented by Temitope Dorcas Alawode, who graduated with a CGPA of 4.52, matriculation number 2022/41014. Her success affirmed the importance of digital technology in modern society and UNIOSUN’s role in producing experts in ICT-driven fields.
In Nursing Science, Esther Aderonke, matriculation number 2020/31404, recorded a CGPA of 4.50, showcasing her academic resilience in one of the most demanding professional disciplines. Her success symbolizes hope for Nigeria’s healthcare sector, particularly in areas of clinical care and public health.
Finally, in the Faculty of Renewable Resources, Hassan Olamide Akinkunmi, matriculation number 2020/32260, earned a CGPA of 4.35. His distinction reflected the increasing relevance of renewable resources in addressing global energy challenges and climate change.
The Vice-Chancellor, in his address during the convocation, congratulated the best graduating students for their hard work and resilience, urging them to continue being ambassadors of the university and of Nigeria at large.
