The management of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, has officially released its admission guidelines for the 2025/2026 academic session. The announcement was made public on Monday, September 29, 2025, through a statement signed by the university’s Registrar, Mr. V. O. Orukotan. The statement provided a detailed breakdown of the steps admitted candidates are expected to follow in securing their admission and warned applicants against falling victim to fraudulent individuals parading themselves as agents of the institution.
According to the Registrar, all candidates who have been offered admission by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and have accepted it on JAMB CAPS are required to print their admission letters. Thereafter, they must continue to check the OOU admission portal via https://portal.oouagoiwoye.edu.ng/admissionlogin.php until they gain full access to the school’s student portal for further instructions.

The statement further emphasized that admitted candidates must carefully follow the admission instructions sent to their registered email addresses. These steps include making an initial payment of the acceptance fee, after which students are expected to fill the Biodata Form with accurate details. Candidates must then upload the required verification documents before proceeding to make their school fee payment within the stipulated deadline set by the university.
Importantly, OOU strongly warned against engaging with unauthorized individuals claiming to be admission agents. The Registrar reiterated that “The University does not have any agents. Do not make any payments to any individuals parading themselves as such.” This advisory comes in response to recurring reports of unsuspecting applicants being duped by fraudsters posing as intermediaries for the school’s admission processes.
In addition, the management directed admitted candidates who uploaded a different or additional O’level result on JAMB CAPS after the Post-UTME exercise to also upload such results on the OOU admission portal. This is to ensure consistency and facilitate smooth verification during the registration process. Any discrepancy between the details on JAMB CAPS and those on the OOU portal may affect successful verification and registration of such candidates.
The Registrar urged all candidates to be meticulous about ensuring that the O’level results uploaded on both JAMB CAPS and OOU portal are identical, stressing that discrepancies could delay or even nullify the admission process. He noted that verification is an integral part of the university’s admission exercise, and candidates who fail to adhere strictly to the instructions may be denied final clearance.

OOU also cautioned students against relying on unverifiable information from unofficial sources, including unverified online platforms, social media posts, and third-party groups. The institution advised candidates to seek clarification only through the official channels provided by the university. The statement assured that any additional updates or necessary information would be communicated directly through subsequent official notices.
The admission announcement reflects OOU’s commitment to ensuring a transparent, fair, and fraud-free admission exercise, aligning with its long-standing reputation as one of Nigeria’s foremost state-owned universities. With thousands of candidates seeking admission yearly, the university’s emphasis on following due process is designed to protect students and maintain the integrity of its academic system.
As the 2025/2026 academic session draws near, successful candidates are expected to complete all outlined steps before the commencement of the new session. The university management once again thanked the public for their cooperation and advised prospective students to remain vigilant while engaging with all online admission processes.
With this official release, candidates are encouraged to act swiftly and responsibly, adhering strictly to OOU’s admission procedures to secure their places in the upcoming academic session. The Registrar concluded the statement by reaffirming the institution’s readiness to welcome new students into its diverse academic programs, as OOU continues to nurture a culture of discipline, knowledge, and excellence.
