Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State has declared Monday, October 6, 2025, a public holiday for teachers across the state in celebration of World Teachers’ Day.
The governor’s approval, conveyed through the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, highlights the administration’s recognition of teachers as key contributors to human and national development.
In his address, Dr. Olohungbebe praised the resilience and dedication of teachers in shaping future generations.
“Our teachers embody patience, sacrifice, and resilience. They nurture minds, shape futures, and drive society’s growth. Today, Kwara salutes their labour of love, for without teachers, no profession exists,” he said.
The commissioner reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving the welfare and working conditions of teachers, describing education as the foundation for sustainable progress and social transformation.
