Dr. Oyeniran’s professional journey at the Federal University Otuoke has been marked by dedication and excellence. He first served as the Head of Reader Services, overseeing both the Circulation and Reference Sections of the University Library. His efficiency and administrative acumen later earned him a transfer to the Technical Section, where he was appointed Head of the Acquisition Unit. In these roles, he played a key part in ensuring that the library’s collections and services aligned with global academic standards.
A highly accomplished academic, Dr. Kayode Gboyega Oyeniran holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Library and Information Science from Delta State University, Abraka, Nigeria. He obtained his Master of Library, Archival, and Information Science (MLIS) degree from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria’s premier university, where he also honed his expertise in library management and digital archiving. His first degree in Library and Information Science was earned from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, laying a solid foundation for his illustrious career in academic librarianship.
Dr. Oyeniran’s professional affiliations speak volumes about his active involvement in the advancement of library and information science in Nigeria. He is a registered member of the Nigerian Library Association (NLA), where he once served as the Vice Chairman of the Bayelsa State Chapter. In addition, he is a registered member of the Librarians’ Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN) and the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN). Prior to joining the Federal University Otuoke, Dr. Oyeniran worked in various sections of the renowned Kenneth Dike Library, University of Ibadan. This background has significantly influenced his approach to library administration, emphasizing accessibility, efficiency, and technological advancement.
