No fewer than 1,576 students will graduate from Bingham University, Karu, Nasarawa State, during the institution’s 6th Convocation Ceremony scheduled for Saturday, November 15.
Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Haruna Ayuba, disclosed this yesterday at a press conference held at the institution’s main campus ahead of the event.
According to him, the graduating set comprises 268 medical doctors and 460 postgraduate students, while 1,116 undergraduates will receive first degrees in various disciplines.
Breaking down the results, the Vice-Chancellor said 82 students earned First Class Honours, 464 obtained Second Class Upper Division, 260 graduated with Second Class Lower Division, 40 made Third Class, while two bagged Pass degrees.
“For the undergraduate programmes, a total of 1,116 graduands were found worthy in character and learning to be awarded first degrees,” Ayuba stated.
“For the postgraduate programmes, 460 graduands successfully completed their studies and will be awarded various postgraduate degrees.”
Prof. Ayuba noted that the convocation would also commemorate the university’s 20th anniversary, describing it as a celebration of two decades of commitment to educational excellence, spiritual development, institutional growth, and societal impact.
He added that in line with the university’s commitment to efficient service delivery, graduates’ certificates will be ready for collection immediately after the ceremony.
“We congratulate all graduands on behalf of the Board of Trustees, Council, Management, Senate, staff, and stakeholders of the university,” he said.
The Vice-Chancellor reaffirmed the institution’s resolve to sustain its tradition of providing quality education anchored on discipline, faith, and service to humanity.
