The Federal Ministry of Education has issued a public notice warning the general public about a false message circulating on social media platforms, alleging that schools nationwide have been directed to close from 24th November 2025.
According to the ministry, the message is false, misleading, and did not originate from the Federal Government, the Federal Ministry of Education, any State Ministry of Education, or any recognised security agency.
In a statement signed by the Director, Press and Public Relations, Boriowo Folasade, the ministry advised the public to rely strictly on verified information issued through official channels, including the Federal Ministry of Education, State Governments, and State Ministries of Education, as well as recognised security agencies.

The ministry emphasized that any announcement, advisory, or notice coming from unofficial or unverified sources should be ignored and not shared.
The public is urged to always verify the authenticity of information before circulating it to curb the spread of misinformation.
The Federal Ministry of Education noted that the false message has caused unnecessary panic and disruption to academic activities across the country.
The ministry assured the public that it is working closely with security agencies to identify the source of the false message and take necessary actions.
In the meantime, the ministry advised schools and institutions to continue with their normal academic activities and ignore the false message.
The public is also advised to be vigilant and report any suspicious messages or activities to the relevant authorities.
The Federal Ministry of Education remains committed to providing accurate and timely information to the public, and it will continue to work towards ensuring a safe and secure learning environment for all.
