The Plateau State Universal Basic Education Board (PSUBEB) has announced the immediate closure of all basic schools across the state as a precautionary measure.
According to a directive issued on Friday, Government Junior Model Secondary Schools (GJMSSs) are to shut down effective Saturday, November 22, 2025, while primary and day schools will close effective Monday, November 24, 2025.
The Board said the decision follows an urgent need for preventive action, noting that the temporary shutdown is intended to forestall potential threats and reassure the public of the government’s commitment to safeguarding learners.
PSUBEB called on Local Government Education Authorities, school administrators, and community leaders to comply fully with the directive and maintain vigilance during the closure period.
The Board reiterated that the welfare and security of pupils remain the government’s top priority.
The statement was signed by the Management of the Plateau State Universal Basic Education Board.
