The Vice Chancellor noted that the university has continued to expand not only in staff strength but also in staff capacity development. According to him, more staff members participated in professional trainings this year, both within and outside Nigeria, than in previous years. He added that infrastructural development has also seen significant improvement.
“So in terms of infrastructural developments, staff capacity investment, educational programme enhancement and leadership advancement, we have made progress,” he said.
Prof. Ajayi expressed deep appreciation to the Visitor to the University and Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his consistent support. He credited the governor for the improved perimeter fencing of the institution and enhanced security measures, including the establishment of an Amotekun security post at the university’s entrance.
He further revealed that Governor Makinde often pays unscheduled visits—even at night—to assess the security situation on campus personally.
The Vice Chancellor also acknowledged the support of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, as well as local government chairmen, noting that their continued commitment to the development of the university has been invaluable.
