The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, has received the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) Borno/Yobe Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner, Mr Linus Gubbi Matashi, during a courtesy visit to the institution.
The visit was held on Monday, December 8, 2025, at the Vice-Chancellor’s office in the Muhammadu Buhari Senate Building.
Mr Matashi said the engagement was aimed at strengthening the partnership with the university in the areas of corruption prevention, public education, and institutional integrity. He also congratulated the university management on the successful conduct of the 25th Combined Convocation Ceremony and the institution’s 50th anniversary.
In his remarks, Professor Mele reaffirmed the university’s commitment to contributing to national development through training, research, and public enlightenment. He expressed readiness for deeper collaboration with the ICPC, noting that the institution already maintains a functional working relationship with the Commission’s desk office on campus.
The visit concluded with the presentation of a commemorative plaque from the Resident Commissioner to the Vice-Chancellor.
