The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced the commencement of the 2026 Batch A Stream I Orientation Course, scheduled to take place across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). According to a circular signed by Nura Umar, Director (PRS), the orientation course will begin on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, and will run until Tuesday, February 10, 2026.
The registration process for the orientation course will take place from Wednesday, January 21, to midnight of Friday, January 23, 2026. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for Friday, January 23, 2026. The NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, has advised prospective corps members to avoid night journeys while traveling to their designated orientation camps.

The 2026 Batch A Stream I Orientation Course is expected to be a comprehensive program, designed to equip corps members with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their service year. The NYSC has put in place measures to ensure a smooth and successful orientation process.
Prospective corps members are advised to report to their designated orientation camps as stated in their call-up letters. Foreign-trained graduates are required to carry their international passports and original copies of all submitted documents.
