The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially revised the schedule for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) process. According to the updated schedule, the sales of UTME forms will commence on January 19, 2026, and close on February 26, 2026.
Candidates are advised to register for UTME at Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres between January 26, 2026, and February 28, 2026. The deadline for selecting the mock examination is February 16, 2026, and UTME registration will close on February 28, 2026.
The mock examination is scheduled to take place on March 28, 2026, while the main UTME examination will be held from April 16 to 25, 2026. For Direct Entry candidates, sales and registration of forms will commence on March 2, 2026, and close on April 25, 2026.
To register for UTME, candidates must have a valid National Identification Number (NIN) and meet the required eligibility criteria. The registration process involves creating a JAMB profile, purchasing an e-PIN, and completing registration at an accredited CBT centre.
The JAMB registration fee for UTME is approximately ₦4,700, excluding additional charges for registration support and mock examination. Candidates are advised to visit the official JAMB website for more information on registration requirements and procedures.
JAMB has emphasized the importance of early registration to avoid last-minute rushes and errors. Candidates are also advised to ensure that their personal details are accurate and meet the requirements of their chosen institutions.
The UTME examination is a mandatory requirement for admission into Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria are encouraged to register early and prepare for the examination.
For more information on JAMB registration, candidates can visit the official JAMB website or accredited CBT centres. The registration process is expected to be smooth and efficient, with JAMB providing support and guidance throughout the process.
