Education District II, through its Guidance and Counselling Unit, has successfully organised a Career Day Programme aimed at empowering students with the knowledge, exposure and motivation needed to make informed career choices.
The programme, themed “Pathways to Purpose: Discovering and Exploring Careers, Shaping the Future,” was held at the Immaculate Heart Hall, Maryland, and attracted seasoned professionals and guidance counsellors from diverse fields, who shared practical insights and real-life experiences with participating students.


Speaking at the event, the Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary (TG/PS), Education District II, Mr. Omotayo Layemo Sanni, represented by the Director, Guidance and Counselling, Mrs. Bolanle Adeniyi, said the initiative reflects the District’s commitment to nurturing well-guided, purpose-driven learners equipped for future academic and professional pursuits.
He reaffirmed that Education District II remains committed to promoting programmes that foster career development, mentorship and holistic education across schools within the District.
Mr. Sanni expressed appreciation to the facilitators for their dedication and impactful contributions, noting that their engagement significantly inspired students and broadened their understanding of various career pathways.
Activities during the programme included interactive lectures, career counselling sessions and creative displays of different professions by students dressed in professional costumes, which brought career options to life and enriched the learning experience.
The programme was attended by over 250 students drawn from various schools across Education District II, underscoring the growing interest in structured career guidance among young learners.
