Ten Senior Secondary School students in Education District III have received financial assistance to support their registration for the National Examinations Council examination under the 100 Smiles Campaign.
The presentation ceremony was held at the District Headquarters in Falomo, Ikoyi, where the Tutor General and Permanent Secretary of Education District III, Mr Olusegun Olawale Osinaike, facilitated the disbursement on behalf of the organisation.
Speaking at the event, Mr Osinaike commended the Non Governmental Organisation for complementing government efforts aimed at ensuring that no student is denied access to quality education due to financial constraints.
He described education as the bedrock of sustainable development, stressing that interventions supporting examination registration serve as strategic investments in the future of young people and the society at large.
Addressing the beneficiaries, the Tutor General encouraged them to remain disciplined and focused in their studies. He reminded them that education is a lifelong asset and urged them to make the most of the opportunity provided.
Founder of the 100 Smiles initiative, Mr Okusanya Rilwan Olumade, explained that the campaign seeks to restore confidence in students and support those facing financial hardship. He noted that the beneficiaries were selected from public secondary schools within the district based on character, conduct, and demonstrated need.
The initiative underscores the importance of collaboration between government and civil society organisations in expanding educational access and empowering students to achieve academic success.
