The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that all preparations have been concluded for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), with over 2.2 million candidates expected to sit for the nationwide exercise.
The examination is scheduled to hold from April 16 to April 22, 2026, across 966 accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres nationwide, marking one of the largest coordinated academic assessments in the country.
Despite the scale of preparations, the Board disclosed that 23 CBT centres have been delisted following poor performance during the recently conducted Mock UTME, as part of efforts to maintain the integrity and efficiency of the examination process.
Candidates who are yet to print their examination slips have been urged to do so immediately via the official JAMB portal, as the slip contains critical information including examination date, time, and venue.
JAMB also reiterated its commitment to inclusivity through the JAMB Equal Opportunity Group, which provides special arrangements for candidates living with disabilities to ensure equal access and fairness during the examination.
The Board further warned that strict sanctions would be imposed on candidates involved in examination malpractice, particularly those found with prohibited items at examination centres.
According to JAMB, all necessary logistics, security arrangements, and technical systems have been put in place to guarantee a smooth and credible examination process across the country.
Candidates have been advised to adhere strictly to all guidelines and arrive at their designated centres early, as the Board moves to ensure a hitch-free conduct of the 2026 UTME.
