The Lagos State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has announced the timetable and guidelines for the 2026 Public Service Examinations, setting the stage for assessment exercises across various cadres in the state’s workforce.
The examinations, coordinated by the Lagos State Examinations Board, will hold from May 12 to May 19, 2026, at the Lagos State Public Service Staff Development Centre in Magodo.
According to the Ministry, the exercise will cover the compulsory examination for all cadres in the state public service, the combined confirmation and promotion examination for Clerical Officers II and Clerical Assistants, as well as the External Secretarial Examination.
Candidates have been advised to begin printing their examination slips from May 5, 2026, through the Board’s official portal using their login credentials. The slip will indicate individual examination dates and schedules.
To gain access to the examination venue, candidates must present valid identification, including staff identity cards, National Identification Number slips, or Lagos State Residents Registration Agency cards, alongside a printed copy of their examination slip.
The Board also noted that the examinations will be conducted using a Computer-Based Test format, urging candidates to acquaint themselves with basic computer operations ahead of time.
In addition, strict compliance with the examination timetable and dress code has been emphasised, with officials warning that improper dressing may lead to denial of entry into the examination hall.
The Board reiterated its commitment to a seamless exercise, calling on all candidates to adhere strictly to the guidelines to ensure an orderly and credible examination process.
