The Ogun State Teaching Service Commission has reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining collaboration with the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools in a renewed effort to improve the quality of secondary education across Ogun State.
The assurance was given by the Chairman of TESCOM, Biodun Sanyaolu, during the State Executive Council meeting of ANCOPSS held at Owode Egba Grammar School, Owode, Ogun State.
According to a statement made available to journalists, Sanyaolu described the relationship between TESCOM and education stakeholders as critical to achieving effective service delivery and strengthening standards in public secondary schools across the state.
He explained that the commission’s ongoing reforms and recent achievements were made possible through the cooperation and support of school principals and educational unions operating within the state’s education sector.
The TESCOM chairman listed digital transformation initiatives, strategic human resource management, and a comprehensive staff verification exercise among reforms currently repositioning the commission for better productivity and accountability.
“The cordial relationship between TESCOM and the unions remains crucial to achieving the commission’s mandate of improving the quality of education and ensuring efficient service delivery in public secondary schools across the state,” Sanyaolu stated.
He further described principals as chief executives of their respective schools, urging them to continue demonstrating leadership through professionalism, punctuality, discipline, and dedication to duty.
“I commend the state ANCOPSS for its consistent efforts in strengthening leadership, fostering professionalism, collaboration, and advancing the standards of public secondary schools in the state,” he added.
People present at the meeting also deliberated on issues affecting the administration and development of secondary schools across the four divisions of Ogun State, with participants emphasising the need for stronger collaboration between government agencies and school administrators.
Speaking during the meeting, the President of ANCOPSS in Ogun State, Alaba Olugbewesa, commended TESCOM for introducing reforms and policies he described as innovative and impactful to the education sector.
Olugbewesa noted that the commission’s initiatives had contributed significantly to improving administrative processes and enhancing operational efficiency within public secondary schools in the state.
He explained that the executive council meeting also provided an opportunity for principals and education stakeholders to examine pressing issues affecting the growth and sustainability of secondary education in Ogun State.
Many people believe the continued collaboration between TESCOM and ANCOPSS could further strengthen educational development in the state, especially at a time when many public schools across Nigeria are seeking improved infrastructure, digital learning systems, and enhanced teacher performance.
The renewed partnership also reflects increasing efforts by education authorities in Ogun State to improve governance, accountability, and service delivery within the public school system.
Stakeholders at the meeting expressed optimism that sustained cooperation between school administrators and government agencies would contribute positively to academic standards and student outcomes across public secondary schools in Ogun State.
