Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, has announced the discontinuation of its Top-Up and Higher National Diploma (HND) Conversion programme beginning from the 2025/2026 academic session.
The institution disclosed this in a public announcement signed by the Registrar, Dr. Kikelomo W. Sallee.
According to the university management, the decision was made in compliance with directives and regulations issued by the National Universities Commission (NUC), the regulatory body overseeing university education in Nigeria.
The statement explained that the discontinuation forms part of KWASU’s commitment to maintaining ethical standards and adhering strictly to policies established by the commission.
“This discontinuation is in compliance with the regulations of the National Universities Commission (NUC), the regulatory body for all universities in Nigeria,” the statement read.
The university further disclosed that the NUC would, in due course, provide further directives regarding the status and academic progression of students currently enrolled in the programme.
KWASU assured stakeholders that it remains fully committed to upholding quality assurance, transparency, and regulatory compliance in all its academic programmes and institutional operations.
The management, however, urged affected students and members of the public to remain calm and await official communication from the appropriate authorities concerning the next line of action.
