The management of Lagos State University (LASU) has commenced monitoring of the ongoing second semester examinations for the 2025/2026 academic session as part of efforts to uphold academic standards and examination integrity.
The examinations, which began on Monday, June 1, are being conducted across the university’s faculties in line with the institution’s revised academic calendar.
Leading the monitoring exercise, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Oluwatoyin A. Enikuomehin, visited several examination centres alongside other university officials to assess compliance with examination guidelines and quality assurance measures.
The monitoring team inspected venues within the Faculties of Social Sciences and Management Sciences, where they evaluated the conduct of the examinations and interacted with relevant officials overseeing the exercise.
Speaking during the visit, Professor Enikuomehin acknowledged that some challenges were encountered at the commencement of the examinations but noted that the exercise had progressed smoothly across the university.
He commended staff and students for their cooperation and adherence to examination regulations, stressing the university’s commitment to maintaining the credibility of its assessment process.
According to him, regular monitoring remains an important part of LASU’s quality assurance framework and efforts to sustain high academic standards.
He also assured members of the university community that management would continue to provide the necessary support to ensure a transparent, orderly and hitch-free examination process throughout the examination period.
The monitoring exercise forms part of the university’s efforts to strengthen quality assurance and promote academic integrity in teaching, learning and assessment.
