The University of Ibadan (UI) has officially commenced its 2026 Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Post-UTME) screening exercise today, Monday, July 27, with candidates expected to participate in the computer-based examination over a three-day period.
The institution reminded prospective students that the Post-UTME screening is a crucial stage in the admission process, as candidates’ performance will determine their chances of securing admission into the university for the 2026/2027 academic session.
To ensure candidates are well prepared, the university highlighted several important points that every applicant should take note of before proceeding to the examination venue.
1. The Post-UTME Examination Has Officially Begun
The screening exercise commenced on Monday, July 27, and is expected to run until Wednesday, July 29. Candidates are expected to appear on the exact date and time indicated on their examination slip.
2. Performance Will Determine Admission Consideration
The university explained that the Post-UTME examination is one of the major criteria for admission. A good performance will improve a candidate’s chances of progressing to the next stage of the admission process.
3. Minimum Qualifying Score
Candidates have been informed that the minimum obtainable qualifying score in the screening exercise is 50 marks out of 100, which is equivalent to 25 aggregate points. Meeting or surpassing this benchmark is essential for further admission consideration.
4. Photocard Reprinting Is Now Available
Applicants who successfully completed and submitted their registration before the stipulated deadline can now log in to the University of Ibadan admission portal to reprint their Post-UTME examination photocard.
5. Information Contained on the Photocard
The university advised candidates to carefully verify every detail on their photocard before leaving for the examination venue. The document contains:
Examination date.
Examination time.
Examination venue.
Candidate’s personal details.
Important examination instructions.
Candidates are encouraged to ensure that all information is accurate before the examination day.
6. Arrive Early at the Examination Centre
Candidates have been advised to report to their designated examination centres early to complete necessary verification procedures before the commencement of the examination.
7. No Mop-Up Examination Will Be Conducted
The University of Ibadan warned that there will be no supplementary or mop-up examination for candidates who fail to appear on their scheduled examination date. Candidates are therefore urged not to miss their assigned sessions under any circumstance.
8. Come With All Required Documents
Applicants are expected to come to the examination venue with all documents specified by the university, particularly their examination photocard and other relevant credentials required for identification and verification.
9. Expected Release of Results
The university disclosed that the results of the Post-UTME screening are expected to be released after the conclusion of the examination on July 29. Candidates are advised to regularly monitor the institution’s admission portal for updates.
