The Federal Government has entered into a strategic partnership with Yakubu Gowon University, Abuja, to strengthen diplomatic training, foreign policy education and professional capacity development as part of efforts to produce a new generation of globally competitive diplomats and international affairs experts. The collaboration is expected to enhance academic research, policy development and specialised training in diplomacy, international relations and global governance.
The partnership, facilitated by the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional diplomatic practice by creating opportunities for students, researchers and public officials to acquire practical knowledge in international diplomacy, negotiation, conflict resolution and foreign policy implementation.
Under the arrangement, both institutions will collaborate on specialised training programmes, policy research, executive education, seminars and workshops aimed at improving the capacity of Nigeria’s diplomatic workforce and strengthening the country’s engagement in regional and global affairs.
