Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, has rescheduled its 2026 Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination screening exercise for prospective undergraduate students seeking admission for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The physical screening exercise, earlier scheduled to hold from Tuesday, September 1 to Saturday, September 5, 2026, will now take place from Friday, September 25 to Wednesday, September 30, 2026, according to a notice issued by the University Registrar and Secretary to Council, K. A. Bakare.
The University also extended the deadline for completion of Post-UTME screening registration to Wednesday, September 23, 2026, giving prospective candidates additional time to complete the process.
Candidates who have already successfully registered for the screening will be able to access their individual screening dates and times from Wednesday, September 16, 2026.
To check their schedules, candidates are required to log into their profiles on the University’s official screening portal using their JAMB registration numbers as usernames and the passwords created during registration.
OAU stressed that candidates must appear physically for the screening exercise, meaning that completing the online registration does not eliminate the requirement to attend the assigned screening session in person.
The rescheduling provides additional time for candidates to prepare for the exercise and for the University to complete arrangements for the physical screening of applicants seeking admission into its undergraduate programmes.
The University has also warned candidates to be cautious about unofficial information concerning the exercise, stressing that its official website and verified social media platforms remain the only authentic sources of information relating to the 2026 Post-UTME screening.
OAU specifically advised candidates against patronising individuals or organisations claiming to be admission or Post-UTME agents, noting that the University does not endorse or encourage candidates to engage such agents.
Candidates are therefore advised to rely directly on information released by the University and to avoid making payments or taking decisions based on messages circulated through unofficial channels.
Those who have not completed their screening registration are expected to do so before the September 23 deadline, as the extension of the physical screening date does not necessarily mean that registration will remain open beyond the newly announced deadline.
Candidates who have successfully registered should also regularly check their profiles from September 16 for their assigned screening dates and times and make adequate preparations to attend physically on the scheduled date.
The University has provided its official screening portal and guidelines to assist candidates in preparing for the exercise, while enquiries concerning the screening may be directed to the designated Post-UTME contact address.
The revised timetable is therefore as follows: registration closes on September 23, 2026; individual screening schedules become accessible from September 16, 2026; while the physical Post-UTME screening will run from September 25 to September 30, 2026.
Prospective candidates have consequently been advised to monitor OAU’s official communication channels closely for any further updates and to ensure that their registration details correspond with their JAMB records.
