The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has restored its Central Admissions Processing System, CAPS, following a temporary disruption that affected admission processing by tertiary institutions.
JAMB, in a notice to candidates, institutions and other stakeholders, said CAPS is now “fully restored and operational”, paving the way for institutions to resume and accelerate admission processing for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The Board urged institutions to intensify their admission processes to make up for time lost during the disruption and meet the approved deadlines for the exercise.
Under the admission calendar, public universities are expected to conclude their admission processes by October 31, 2026, while private universities have until November 30, 2026.
Other tertiary institutions have been given until December 31, 2026, to complete admissions for the session.
JAMB also advised candidates who receive admission offers through CAPS to promptly accept them to avoid delays in the completion of their admission process.
The restoration of CAPS also comes shortly after the release of the 2026 Senior School Certificate Examination results conducted by the National Examinations Council.
Candidates who had been waiting for their NECO results are now advised to upload or verify their results promptly, ensuring that their academic credentials are available for consideration as institutions step up their admission activities.
The Board said the temporary disruption had caused inconvenience to candidates and other stakeholders and expressed appreciation for their patience and understanding.
With CAPS now operational, institutions are expected to intensify the processing of admissions in the coming weeks as candidates move to secure places for the 2026/2027 academic session.
