The Federal University Dutse (FUD), Jigawa State, has officially announced the commencement of its Post-UTME and Direct Entry (DE) online screening exercise for the 2025/2026 academic session. The institution has invited qualified candidates who selected FUD as their first-choice university during the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry application to participate in the mandatory screening exercise. According to the management, the exercise will run from Monday, August 25, 2025, to Monday, September 15, 2025.

Eligibility for the screening exercise has been clearly defined by the university. UTME candidates are required to have obtained a minimum score of 150 in the 2025 JAMB examination, while Direct Entry applicants must possess a minimum of eight (8) points in IJMB/NCE or a Lower Credit in National Diploma. In addition, all candidates must have at least five credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings. FUD emphasized that only those who meet these requirements will be considered for admission into its various academic programmes.

The University further noted that participation in the online screening exercise is compulsory for all eligible candidates, as it forms a core part of the admission process. The screening fee has been pegged at ₦2,000 (Two Thousand Naira only). Payment can be made via any acceptable debit card or at commercial banks across the country, including the FUD Microfinance Bank, through the Remita platform.

For registration, candidates are required to visit the official FUD Post-UTME/DE portal at https://www.putme.fud.edu.ng. Upon accessing the portal, candidates must log in using their UTME/DE registration number and their state of origin as password. Once logged in, applicants are expected to update their personal details such as date of birth, email address, phone number, and local government of origin to ensure they tally with the details provided during UTME/DE registration.

The registration process also requires candidates to generate an invoice and a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) number before proceeding with the payment of the screening fee. After successful payment, applicants should return to the portal to update their O’Level and A’Level results (where applicable) and upload scanned copies of their credentials, including authentic O’Level/A’Level results and a recent passport-size photograph.

Upon completion of the application, candidates must print important documents such as the Acknowledgement Slip and Evidence of Payment Receipt. Additionally, they are to present their JAMB UTME Notification of Result or Registration Slip as part of the documentation process. These documents will serve as proof of successful registration and payment and may be required during subsequent admission procedures.

The management of FUDutse strongly advised all applicants to upload their O’Level results on the JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) portal. Failure to do so, according to the university, may disqualify candidates from being considered for admission regardless of their performance in the screening exercise. Candidates were equally warned that the deadline for registration would be strictly enforced, and late applications would not be entertained.

In a bid to ensure transparency and accessibility, the University provided support platforms for candidates with enquiries or challenges. Applicants can either make use of the live chat option on the PUTME portal or send an email to putme@fud.edu.ng for swift assistance. This step highlights the institution’s commitment to easing the admission process and addressing concerns of prospective students.

The Federal University Dutse reiterated its dedication to merit-based admissions and stressed that only qualified candidates who complete the screening process within the stipulated time will be considered. The university also cautioned applicants against patronizing third-party agents or fraudulent websites, insisting that the official portal remains the only recognized platform for the Post-UTME/DE registration.

As the race for admission into Nigerian universities intensifies, prospective students are urged to carefully follow the outlined procedures to secure their place at the Federal University Dutse. With its growing reputation as one of the leading universities in Northern Nigeria, FUD continues to attract thousands of candidates yearly, making adherence to the registration and screening guidelines an important step towards securing admission into the institution.
