The management of Lagos State University (LASU) has officially released the approved academic calendar for the 2025/2026 academic session. The calendar outlines schedules for both new and returning students across the two semesters of the session.
First Semester
According to the calendar, registration for newly admitted students will begin on Monday, 15th September and run until Friday, 3rd October 2025, making up a three-week period.
Returning students are expected to resume from Monday, 6th October to Friday, 19th December 2025, during which their registration and lectures will hold concurrently with those of new students for a total of 11 weeks.
The university has also approved an end-of-year break from Monday, 22nd December 2025 to Friday, 2nd January 2026, giving students and staff two weeks off.
Revision and late registration—with a penalty fee of ₦5,000—will take place between Monday, 5th January and Friday, 9th January 2026, covering one week.
Examinations for the first semester are scheduled from Monday, 12th January to Friday, 6th February 2026, spanning four weeks.
Grading and uploading of results will then follow from Monday, 9th February to Friday, 20th February 2026, lasting two weeks.
Finally, departmental and faculty consideration of results, corrections, ICT processing, collation, and Senate approval are fixed for Monday, 23rd February to Friday, 27th February 2026.
In total, newly admitted students will spend 24 weeks in the first semester, while returning students will spend 21 weeks.
Second Semester
For the second semester, lectures and registration for both new and returning students will run from Monday, 2nd March to Friday, 22nd May 2026, making up 12 weeks.
Examinations will follow immediately between Monday, 25th May and Friday, 5th June 2026, for four weeks.
This will be succeeded by a two-week period of grading and uploading of results from Monday, 8th June to Friday, 19th June 2026.
Departmental and faculty consideration, uploading of corrections, and ICT processing are scheduled between Monday, 22nd June and Friday, 26th June 2026, lasting one week.
The collation of results and Senate approval are expected between Monday, 29th June and Friday, 3rd July 2026.
The end-of-session break begins on Monday, 6th July 2026, officially bringing the academic year to a close.

Sessional Break and New Session
The sessional break will last three months, from Monday, 6th July to Friday, 2nd October 2026.
The new academic year, 2026/2027 session, will officially commence on Monday, 6th October 2026.
