The Kwara State College of Nursing Sciences, Oke-Ode (KWCONOO), has temporarily relocated its operations to Ilorin following growing security unrest in parts of Kwara South and Central Senatorial Districts.
According to a statement signed by the College’s Press Secretary, AbdulHafeez Oyewole, and obtained by The Nigeria Education News, academic activities for Nursing and Midwifery students have resumed at the Institute of Technology (I.O.T) Mini Campus, Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin.
The management expressed gratitude to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for approving the relocation and providing the necessary support to ensure a smooth transition.
Provost of the College, Alhaji Olanrewaju AbdulQaudri, who personally supervised the relocation between Monday and Wednesday, described the move as a proactive step to safeguard students and staff amid the security challenges in Oke-Ode.
Addressing staff and students at the new site on Thursday, AbdulQaudri urged them to remain dedicated, punctual, and resilient despite the change in environment. He also advised students to maintain discipline, stay security-conscious, and focus on their studies.
The Provost expressed optimism that normalcy would soon return to Oke-Ode, allowing the institution to resume full operations at its permanent campus.
He reaffirmed the management’s commitment to providing a conducive learning environment and uninterrupted academic activities despite temporary disruptions.
