The management of Taraba State University (TASU), Jalingo, has officially released the Provisional Admission List for the 2025/2026 academic session. This marks a significant phase in the institution’s admission process as thousands of candidates who participated in the university’s post-UTME screening exercise can now verify their admission status through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Central Admission Processing System (CAPS). The release signifies the commencement of a new academic year for fresh students across various faculties and departments of the institution.
According to an official update from the university’s admission office, the list of successful candidates has been uploaded and is now accessible via the JAMB CAPS portal. All applicants are therefore advised to check their admission status promptly to confirm their placement into the university. The process is entirely online, allowing candidates to access their details from any location without the need to visit the university’s campus physically.
To check their admission status, candidates are expected to log in to the official JAMB e-facility platform using their registered email address and password. Once logged in, they should locate the “Check Admission Status” option on their dashboard. Afterward, they must click on “Access my CAPS,” followed by “Admission Status,” to see if they have been offered admission into Taraba State University for the 2025/2026 session. This procedure ensures a seamless verification process for all candidates.
Successful candidates will receive an official congratulatory message accompanied by their passport photograph and personal details displayed on the CAPS portal. The message typically reads, “Congratulations, you have been offered admission,” signifying that the applicant has successfully secured a spot at TASU. Conversely, candidates who have not yet been admitted will see a message stating, “Sorry, no admission has been given yet.” The university has, however, advised such candidates to remain patient as the admission process is ongoing and more names may be released in subsequent batches.
Upon confirmation of admission, candidates must take an important next step by either accepting or rejecting their offer on the JAMB platform. This is done by sending an SMS containing either ACCEPT or REJECT to 55019 or 66019 using the phone number linked to their JAMB profile. Candidates who accept the admission will be able to print their JAMB Admission Letter, which serves as an official document required for clearance and registration at the university.
The management of JAMB has emphasized that candidates are given a period of four (4) weeks to accept their admission offer. Failure to respond within the stipulated time may result in automatic forfeiture of the admission slot. For candidates who may have lost access to the phone number linked to their JAMB profile, the university has advised them to visit any JAMB-accredited CBT centre to complete the acceptance or rejection process manually.
Furthermore, TASU authorities have cautioned candidates to beware of fraudulent individuals or unauthorized websites claiming to offer admission or assist in admission upgrades. The university reiterated that all official admission procedures are conducted exclusively through the JAMB CAPS portal and the university’s admission office. Any candidate found engaging in unofficial dealings risks disqualification or withdrawal of admission.
Candidates who have successfully accepted their admission are urged to visit the Taraba State University Admission Portal to proceed with their clearance, verification of documents, and payment of acceptance fees. The clearance process involves the submission of key documents such as O’level results, JAMB result slip, birth certificate, local government identification letter, and other credentials required by the university’s admissions office.
The Vice-Chancellor of Taraba State University, Prof. Sunday Paul Bako, congratulated the newly admitted students and expressed optimism that the incoming academic session would be more productive. He assured students of the institution’s commitment to maintaining high academic standards while providing a conducive environment for learning and innovation. Prof. Bako also encouraged candidates who are yet to gain admission to stay hopeful, noting that the second and third admission batches will soon be released.
The release of the TASU 2025/2026 admission list on JAMB CAPS marks a new beginning for many young Nigerians aspiring for higher education in Taraba State. Candidates are therefore encouraged to complete all necessary procedures within the given timeframe and prepare for the resumption of academic activities as scheduled by the university. This milestone reaffirms TASU’s continuous drive toward transparency, accessibility, and excellence in the Nigerian higher education system.
