The Katsina State Science and Technical Education Board (STEB) has successfully conducted a statewide teachers’ recruitment examination aimed at strengthening the quality of teaching personnel across science, technical, and related disciplines.
The exercise, held across the three senatorial zones of the state, was approved by Governor Malam Dikko Umar Radda, underscoring his administration’s commitment to revitalizing the education sector and enhancing human capital development.
The first phase of the recruitment test took place on Friday, October 11, 2025, for applicants seeking teaching positions in Physics, Mathematics, and English Language, while the second phase, held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, featured candidates applying for positions in Commercial and Technical Education.
According to the Board, the examinations were conducted simultaneously at three designated centres, Government Girls Secondary School, Batagarawa (Katsina Centre), Government Pilot Secondary School, Daura (Daura Centre); and Government Girls Science Secondary School, Malumfashi (Funtua Centre).
The exercise was supervised by the Executive Secretary of STEB, Professor Kabir Ibrahim Matazu, alongside Directors and other officials to ensure transparency, credibility, and fairness throughout the process.
Professor Matazu commended the orderly conduct of the exercise, noting that it aligns with Governor Radda’s education reform agenda, which prioritizes merit-based recruitment and improved teaching standards, especially in science and technical subjects.
The initiative, he added, represents another milestone in the state’s efforts to reposition the education sector for greater quality, efficiency, and sustainability.
