The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has announced the schedule for its mandatory toxicology screening exercise for all newly admitted candidates for the 2025/2026 academic session. The exercise, according to the university, will run from Wednesday, November 12 to Friday, November 21, 2025, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily at the Jelili Adebisi Omotola (Multipurpose) Hall, UNILAG.
The announcement was contained in a statement signed by Ndidi J. Odinikaeze on Monday, November 11, 2025, congratulating all newly admitted UTME and Direct Entry candidates and welcoming them into the UNILAG academic community.
According to the statement, the toxicology screening is a compulsory requirement for all newly admitted students before they can proceed with the main registration and clearance process. “The toxicology screening result is mandatory for screening and registration exercises which are scheduled to commence soon,” the statement read.
Candidates are required to present the following documents during the exercise:
- UTME/Direct Entry candidate’s Biodata Page; and
- Printout of evidence of payment for the toxicology screening.
The university also provided a step-by-step guide for payment and registration. Candidates are to visit the official student portal at https://studentportal.unilag.edu.ng, log in with their JAMB application number as username and surname (in lowercase) as password, then follow the prompts to make payment and print the receipt for presentation.
UNILAG emphasized that no candidate will be allowed to participate in the main registration process without the toxicology clearance, adding that the test forms part of the university’s policy to ensure the well-being and fitness of its students.
The schedule released by the management showed that the exercise will be held faculty by faculty. On Wednesday, November 12, students from the Faculties of Architecture, Arts, Communication and Media Studies, Computing and Informatics, and Creative Arts will be screened.
Thursday, November 13 is scheduled for Life Sciences, Basic Clinical Sciences, Basic Medical Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Dental Sciences, and Social Sciences students.
Friday, November 14 will feature Engineering, Health Professions, Management Sciences, Pharmacy, and Physical & Earth Sciences, while Monday, November 17 will be for Education, Environmental Sciences, and Law students.
The same sequence will be repeated the following week for candidates who miss their initial schedule, running from Tuesday, November 18 to Friday, November 21, 2025, to ensure full coverage.
The university urged all newly admitted students to adhere strictly to their scheduled days and come prepared with the required documents to avoid delays. For further information or clarifications, candidates were advised to contact the Admissions Office via admissions@unilag.edu.ng.
UNILAG’s toxicology screening policy has been a long-standing part of its student health and wellness framework, designed to ensure that admitted candidates meet the university’s standards for responsible academic and social conduct.
