The Federal University of Natural Resources, Technology and Operations (FUNATO) has officially launched its long-awaited university website, a major step toward strengthening its digital footprint, institutional identity, and global visibility. The unveiling of the platform signals the university’s readiness to embrace a modern communication structure that provides real-time, credible, and authoritative information to the public. At a time when misinformation circulates easily across social media and informal networks, FUNATO’s new website stands as a dependable channel for verified updates, accurate representation, and direct engagement with stakeholders.
According to the university management, the website is designed not only to inform but also to project the achievements, programmes, and developmental strides of the institution to a global audience. It is expected to function as FUNATO’s digital ambassador dispelling rumours, correcting misconceptions, and showcasing the university’s innovations, strengths, and aspirations. The platform’s arrival marks a transformative shift toward digital transparency, administrative efficiency, and academic distinction.
Preparations leading to the website’s launch were both collaborative and strategic. Distinguished professors and ICT experts from several reputable institutions including the University of Ibadan (UI), the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), and the University of Jos (UNIJOS) arrived on Monday, 8th December, to participate in the final review process. They were hosted at the serene and hilly University Guest House, where technical, administrative, and academic stakeholders convened to evaluate the platform’s readiness.
The decisive review session was held on Tuesday, 9th December, where the FUNATO University Management worked closely with the ICT team from UI and other committee members to scrutinize the website’s structure, accuracy, and functionality. The meeting, which lasted from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., involved intensive examination of content, layout, navigation, and compliance with global university website standards. Every recommendation, correction, and expert insight was incorporated during the session to ensure that the final platform reflected professionalism and excellence.
After the exhaustive review and final adjustments, the committee gave its approval for the website to be deployed. The university management subsequently authorized the official launch, making the website immediately available for public use. With this milestone, FUNATO has firmly placed itself on the digital map and signalled its commitment to effective communication, academic visibility, and technological advancement.
The website can now be accessed via www.funato.edu.ng, giving students, staff, researchers, partners, and the general public seamless access to reliable information and institutional resources. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. O. J. Babayemi, described the launch as a “bold and forward-thinking achievement,” affirming that FUNATO is poised to engage more meaningfully with both local and international audiences through digital innovation.
