Officials of the Lagos State Teaching Service Commission have been urged to strengthen teamwork and align operational mandates as part of renewed efforts to improve service delivery across the state’s education sector.
The call came during a strategic engagement led by the Office of Transformation, Creativity and Innovation, where its Permanent Secretary, Toyin Anjous-Ademuyiwa, emphasised that institutional success depends on strong collaboration and adherence to established procedures.
Addressing TESCOM staff, Anjous-Ademuyiwa highlighted the role of a clear organisational structure in driving efficiency, noting that effective teamwork between leadership and personnel is essential for sustainable reforms. She stressed that processes must not only exist but be consistently followed.
She further underscored the importance of aligning the Commission’s operations with defined business processes and strategic goals, particularly in relation to the Lagos State T.H.E.M.E.S Plus Agenda. According to her, revisiting institutional vision and mission frameworks is necessary to ensure policy direction remains focused and measurable.
The Permanent Secretary also identified punctuality, transparency, dedication, and active participation as critical values needed to reposition the Commission. Drawing from professional experience, she encouraged staff to remain open to growth, improve their work ethic, and commit fully to reform initiatives.
Responding, TESCOM leadership represented by Chairman Victoria Mopelola Peregrino reaffirmed the Commission’s readiness to operate with unified mandates. Management assured that education, as a key pillar of the state development agenda, would continue to guide TESCOM’s reform priorities.
