The management of the Nigeria Education Repository and Databank (NERD) has issued a public advisory to students and prospective corps members on the approved mode of processing enrolment and related services.
In the notice dated February 20, 2026 (Ref: NERD/Gen/2026/27), NERD cautioned students against physically visiting cyber cafés or unverified centres for registration processes. According to the agency, all NERD-related services are structured to be conducted virtually and remotely through phone calls, email, WhatsApp, and other digital channels without requiring physical presence.
As part of its job-creation initiative, NERD disclosed that it has engaged over 1,200 Digital Service Centres (DSCs) nationwide, each staffed by approximately three Enrolment Centre Operators (ECOs). Students are strongly advised to engage only accredited DSCs or ECOs whose verified contact details including phone numbers, email addresses, and locations are officially published on the NERD lookup portal.
The agency emphasised that geographical distance is not a barrier, noting that any accredited DSC or ECO can validly process registration irrespective of a student’s location within the country.

Students were further advised to confirm the accreditation status of any centre or operator via the official NERD lookup portal before engaging their services. If a centre’s name and contact details are not listed on the portal, students are instructed not to proceed with such operators.
Approved Charges and Reporting Mechanism
NERD clarified that the maximum approved charge for data entry and upload services for enrolment is ₦2,500. Students are encouraged to verify the official pricing structure through the designated portal.
The agency urged students to report any accredited DSC or ECO demanding fees above the approved rate by sending details including the name and contact information of the centre or operator to its official support email.
Support Channels
For further enquiries or clarification, students may contact NERD Support through its designated helpline and official email address.
Management stated that strict adherence to the directive will safeguard the integrity, transparency, and security of the NERD system, while protecting students from exploitation and fraudulent practices.
The advisory forms part of broader efforts to streamline digital education services and ensure compliance with approved operational standards nationwide.
