Twenty first-class students of the College of Education, Osun State University (UNIOSUN), Ipetu-Ijesha campus, have benefited from the third edition of the scholarship initiative sponsored by the Aaraji Empowerment Foundation (AEF). Each beneficiary received a cheque of ₦100,000 to support their academic pursuits.
The scholarship presentation was held during the institution’s 2026 annual lecture and awards ceremony, marking the third consecutive year of disbursement under a ten-year scholarship agreement between the foundation and the university’s College of Education. The initiative is specifically targeted at high-performing students who have attained first-class academic standing.
Founder of the foundation, Kehinde Raji, disclosed in a statement shared on his Facebook page that the programme was conceived to reward academic excellence and motivate other students to strive for outstanding performance. According to him, the foundation entered into the long-term scholarship partnership with the university three years ago as part of its commitment to educational development and youth empowerment.
Raji noted that the twenty awardees expressed gratitude for the financial support, describing the moment as both encouraging and inspiring. He emphasised that the scholarship is designed not only as financial assistance but also as a recognition platform for academic discipline and hard work among students.
On behalf of the foundation, he also appreciated the Vice-Chancellor, the Provost of the College of Education, and members of the university’s management team for their cooperation and support in sustaining the initiative. He described the opportunity to serve as a privilege and reaffirmed the foundation’s dedication to promoting education.
Education stakeholders have lauded the scholarship as a positive example of private-sector and philanthropic engagement in higher education, noting that consistent reward systems for academic excellence can significantly boost student motivation and institutional performance.
