The Lagos State Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA) has paid a courtesy visit to the Parastatals Monitoring Office (PMO) as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration and improve service delivery, accountability, and standards within the state’s education sector.
During the visit, the Special Adviser on Parastatals Monitoring, Mr. Ibrahim Babajide Obanikoro, commended the agency for its ongoing efforts to maintain quality education across Lagos schools.
Obanikoro emphasized the need to sustain the progress already recorded, noting that innovation and compliance with established standards are critical to improving institutional efficiency.
He also encouraged the agency to leverage technological solutions such as the National Identification Number (NIN) system to enhance monitoring processes and administrative efficiency across educational institutions.
Speaking during the meeting, the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Olugbemiga Ayoola Aina, stressed the importance of collaboration and knowledge sharing among government agencies in achieving effective service delivery.
According to him, strong institutional frameworks and partnerships remain essential for improving the overall performance of the education system.
“Working in silos hinders progress. There must be collaboration and shared responsibility if we are to achieve sustainable development in the education sector,” he said.
In his remarks, the Director-General of OEQA, Dr. Sulaimon Olagoke Ogunmuyiwa, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to promoting quality education across Lagos State.
He explained that the agency will continue to focus on effective regulation, school inspections, and continuous capacity building for educators in order to maintain high standards.
Ogunmuyiwa also revealed that the agency is advancing plans to introduce school self-evaluation systems, which will allow institutions to assess their performance and improve internal quality management.
The visit, according to both agencies, reflects a shared commitment to building a more accountable, efficient, and high-quality education system in Lagos State.
