The University of Lagos Business School has announced the commencement of applications for its Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) programme, designed to strengthen leadership capacity and drive research-based solutions to real-world business challenges.
The programme, according to the school, is structured to bridge the gap between academic research and professional practice, with a focus on enhancing management expertise, supporting national economic growth, and improving societal outcomes.
Prospective candidates can specialise in Management and Leadership, Finance, or Entrepreneurship, areas the institution says are critical to building a new generation of high-level professionals and decision-makers.
The DBA programme aims to provide a collaborative learning environment where experienced professionals engage with academics and industry experts, while also developing the capacity to apply theoretical frameworks to practical challenges.
Applicants are required to hold an MBA or a relevant master’s degree in fields such as business, finance, marketing, accounting, human resource management, actuarial science, or risk management, with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 on a 5-point scale. In addition, candidates must have at least ten years of verifiable industry experience at senior management or administrative level.
As part of the selection process, applicants are expected to submit and defend a research proposal outlining their problem statement, objectives, literature review, and methodology, reflecting the programme’s strong emphasis on applied research.
The programme will run for a minimum of three years and a maximum of five years, leading to the award of a Doctor of Business Administration degree.
Applications are open via the university’s portal, with a deadline of July 31, 2026, while selection interviews are scheduled to hold between August 19 and August 21, 2026. The programme is set to commence on September 12, 2026.
The Business School noted that the initiative is part of broader efforts to develop professionals equipped with the knowledge, skills, and leadership capacity required to navigate complex business environments and contribute meaningfully to national development.
