The Vice-Chancellor of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASFUED), Professor Samuel Ekundayo Oladipo, has congratulated Miss Adebayo Oluwabusayomi Ehinome, a 300-level student of the Department of Home Economics and Hotel Management, for emerging winner of the Future Visionary Challenge at the 2026 African Legacy Summit.
The student secured a cash prize of ₦5 million alongside a fully funded Master’s scholarship in a hospitality-related discipline after excelling in the continental competition.
Professor Oladipo described the achievement as a remarkable feat that has brought honour, pride, and international recognition to the university community.
The Vice-Chancellor, in a statement issued on behalf of the university management, staff, students, and alumni, commended the student for distinguishing herself through creativity, innovation, confidence, and outstanding presentation skills during the competition.
According to the statement, the African Legacy Summit is regarded as one of the largest gatherings of students and professionals within the hospitality, travel, and tourism industry across Africa.
The summit featured participants from 26 tertiary institutions across Nigeria, with students presenting innovative ideas and business solutions capable of transforming the hospitality and tourism sector.
The competition reportedly involved a rigorous three-stage pitching process where 112 students showcased innovative concepts and entrepreneurial ideas before panels of judges and industry experts.
Miss Ehinome eventually emerged as the overall winner after outperforming contestants from other institutions, a development the university described as evidence of the quality of education and entrepreneurial culture being promoted within TASFUED.
Reacting to the victory, Professor Oladipo said the student’s performance reflects the university’s commitment to producing globally competitive graduates equipped with innovation-driven skills and leadership qualities.
According to him, the achievement demonstrates that students of the institution can compete favourably with their counterparts both nationally and internationally when given the right opportunities and support.
He further noted that the success aligns with the university’s broader vision of encouraging practical learning, creativity, entrepreneurship, and talent development among students.
“The achievement is a reflection of the quality of education, innovation and entrepreneurial culture being promoted at the University,” the Vice-Chancellor stated.
Professor Oladipo urged other students of the institution to emulate the culture of discipline, hard work, resilience, and excellence displayed by the award-winning student.
He stressed that numerous opportunities exist for students willing to remain focused and positively represent the university in academic and professional engagements.
