Redeemer’s University has warned prospective students and members of the public to be vigilant against fraudsters allegedly using the institution’s logo and fake email addresses to deceive admission seekers and obtain money from them.
The university urged applicants and prospective students to avoid unauthorised individuals and platforms claiming to represent the institution in admission-related matters.
In a public notice, the institution advised prospective applicants to rely strictly on its official admission channels for information, applications and enquiries.
“Beware of scammers,” the notice stated, warning that fraudsters were using the university’s identity and fake email addresses to target unsuspecting admission seekers.
The university said applicants should conduct their admission-related activities through its official admission portal rather than relying on unofficial links, social media accounts or individuals claiming to have influence over the admission process.
Redeemer’s University maintains an official admission portal for prospective undergraduate applicants, while its official university channels also provide verified information on admission requirements and procedures.
The institution specifically advised prospective students to use its official admission portal for enquiries and application-related activities and to contact the university through approved communication channels.
The warning comes amid increasing concerns over fraudulent admission schemes targeting candidates seeking placement into tertiary institutions, particularly through fake social media accounts, cloned institutional identities and unauthorised contact details.
Prospective students and parents are therefore advised to independently verify admission information before making payments or sharing personal documents with anyone claiming to represent the university.
The university’s official contact information is available through its verified website and admission channels, which include its designated admission email address and official telephone contacts.
Redeemer’s University urged applicants to remain cautious and ensure that all admission enquiries and transactions are conducted only through verified institutional platforms to avoid falling victim to fraudulent schemes.
