The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), has commenced the release of admission offers for the 2026/2027 academic session, with candidates able to check their admission status through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board’s Central Admissions Processing System (JAMB CAPS).
A notice published by Myschool on September 21 said candidates who participated in FUTA’s 2026/2027 admission screening exercise could proceed to check whether they had been offered provisional admission. The development follows earlier reports that the university had begun uploading admission offers in batches.
Candidates are advised to check their individual admission status rather than assume that the release of offers means every applicant has received a decision. Admission processing may take place in batches, and a candidate’s status can differ from that of other applicants.
To check their status, candidates should follow these steps:
1. Visit the “JAMB e-Facility portal” (https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng/?utm_source=chatgpt.com).
2. Log in using the email address and password registered with JAMB.
3. Select “Check Admission Status”.
4. Click “Access my CAPS”.
5. Select “Admission Status” to view the current decision.
Candidates who have been offered admission should see a message confirming the offer. Those whose admission has not yet been processed may see a response indicating that no admission has been given at that time. Such a response should be interpreted as the status currently displayed on CAPS, not necessarily as a final decision on the candidate’s application.
Successful candidates should carefully follow the instructions displayed on their profiles to accept or reject an offer. The supplied notice advises candidates to send ACCEPT or REJECT by SMS to 55019 or 66019, using the telephone number linked to their JAMB profile. Candidates who no longer have access to their registered numbers are advised to seek assistance at an accredited JAMB centre.
After accepting an offer, candidates should print their JAMB admission letter and retain it for subsequent clearance and registration. They should also monitor FUTA’s official communication channels for any additional instructions, deadlines, documentation requirements or fees associated with completing the admission process.
Candidates checking CAPS on a mobile phone may find that some menu options are not displayed in the usual layout. The notice recommends using a desktop browser or enabling “Request desktop site” in Google Chrome to access the full page. If the status page does not display correctly, candidates can try a computer or seek assistance through an authorised JAMB centre.
FUTA’s official screening information confirms that the university conducted its 2026/2027 admission screening exercise for eligible UTME and Direct Entry applicants. The university’s notice stated that candidates were required to meet its eligibility conditions and complete the prescribed online screening registration.
The appearance of admission offers on CAPS is an important stage in the admission process, but candidates must still complete the required acceptance, documentation and institutional registration procedures. Applicants are therefore encouraged to check their profiles regularly and rely on JAMB and FUTA’s official platforms for confirmation of their individual admission status.
