Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has commenced registration for the 2025 Post-UTME and Direct Entry screening exercise for candidates seeking admission into the institution for the 2025/2026 academic session. According to a special bulletin issued by the Office of the Registrar on Monday, July 28, 2025, the exercise will run from Monday, August 4, to Thursday, August 21, 2025.
The university stated that only candidates who selected ABU as their first choice in the 2025 UTME or who are eligible direct-entry applicants are allowed to participate in the screening. UTME candidates must have scored a minimum of 180, while direct-entry applicants must meet stipulated academic requirements.
To register, candidates are required to visit the ABU portal or use the 2025/2026 Post-UTME Registration link on the university website. A non-refundable fee of ₦2,000 is required for the screening, payable online using ATM cards or via printed transaction slips at commercial banks.
The university emphasized that subject combinations must be checked and confirmed for correctness to avoid disqualification or reassignment to another course. Candidates with incorrect combinations are urged to make appropriate changes on the JAMB portal before proceeding.
While the bulletin included a screening schedule across faculties and schools, ABU also outlined that candidates may take the screening at the Iya Abubakar Institute of Information and Computing Technology (IAIICT), the Distance Learning Centre (DLC), or the university’s Computer-Based Test (CBT) Centre.
Candidates are expected to present their original JAMB and Post-UTME registration printouts during the screening.
The Registrar, Mal. Rabiu Samaila, warned that failure to complete registration within the stipulated timeframe would result in disqualification from admission consideration for the academic session.
ABU’s move to commence the registration process aligns with its commitment to merit-based admissions and transparent academic processes as the university prepares to welcome a new cohort of students.
