The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, has celebrated excellence in the education sector by rewarding Mr. Solanke Francis Taiwo, who emerged as the Overall Best Primary School Teacher in Nigeria for the 2025 to 2026 academic session.
The announcement was shared on the governor’s official X page, where he highlighted the importance of recognising outstanding educators whose contributions continue to shape learning outcomes.
The teacher, who serves at Ansa-Ur-Deen Main School I in Abeokuta, received a two bedroom bungalow under the State Housing Scheme to be located in an area of his choice. He was also handed the keys to a brand new car donated by the Federal Government, in addition to the ₦50 million cash prize earlier presented to him at the National Teachers’ Summit held in Abuja.
Governor Abiodun stated that the recognition reflects the state government’s firm belief that sustained investment in education, teacher welfare, training, digitisation and innovation produces measurable outcomes.
He reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to continuous reforms aimed at empowering teachers and learners, rewarding excellence and positioning Ogun State as a national benchmark in education.
The governor added that as long as his administration remains in office, hard work, dedication and exceptional performance will continue to be acknowledged and celebrated.
